We are in a small group of 4 travelers who travelled with a local guide who had a very comprehensive knowledge of the islands, a photographer and Beate Zwermann. The journey has included what I expect from a study trip. There was a lot of internal information about Ecuador, both in terms of the economic and political situation and the country’s development. We visited many interesting places and experienced a rapid change in altitude between 500 m and 4200 m above sea level. Then we flew to Galapagos for a 4-day cruise and 2 days on Santa Cruz. As there are so many different things to see and do on the islands, the days were packed with excursions to various islands and snorkeling. The flora and fauna are very impressive and the guides were very well trained. Here you find yourself in a gigantic laboratory of evolution which is very exciting. On the whole, I can only recommend this group trip, as Beate is very well versed in Ecuador and Galapagos and can therefore also offer locations that are not in the program with a normal provider. Our individual requests, despite group travel, were also received and catered to. The accommodations were tailored to our needs and they were very good.

wir denken immer noch regelmäßig an unsere Ecuador-Reise und lassen die spannenden und erlebnisreichen Tage Revue passieren.

Es war für uns ein Glücksfall, dass wir die Reise zusammen mit Dir und in einer so kleinen Gruppe mitmachen konnten. Du warst uns immer eine umsichtige und fürsorgliche Reiseleiterin und hast mit Deiner Erfahrung und Begeisterung für das Land die lokalen Reiseleiter trefflich ergänzt. Dafür besten Dank.

Das Reiseprogramm entsprach unseren Vorstellungen beinahe perfekt. Der erste Teil mit Stadtführung, Besuch des Aequators, und vor allem die Exkursionen im Regenwald und die Übernachtungen in der Urwald-Lodge haben uns ausgezeichnet gefallen. Schade, dass der Nebel unsere grössere Wanderung verhinderte, aber das Bad in den heissen Quellen entschädigte dafür.

Bitte lass bei nächster Gelegenheit auch unseren Reiseleiter Adrian wissen, dass wir seine Führung sehr schätzten.

Auf Galapagos erwarteten uns intensive Tage mit vielen Highlights. Wir fühlten uns wohl auf dem Schiff, vor allem auch wegen unserer feudalen Kabine, die Du uns verschafft hast. Auch hier nochmals herzlichen Dank. Für mich war neben der reichhaltigen Fauna, die meist aus nächster Nähe bestaunt werden konnte, auch das Schnorcheln eine Erfahrung mit bleibendem Erinnerungswert.

Eine Einschränkung haben wir zur bisherigen 100% positiven Bewertung. Der Schluss der Reise. Auf diesen Zusatztag hätten wir verzichten können. Die dreimalige Durchquerung von Santa Cruz war etwas mühsam und die Rückreise auf das Festland mit den diversen Transportmitteln ebenfalls. Auch die abschliessende Führung durch Guayaquil hätten wir nicht vermisst.

Insgesamt war die Reise aber ein grossartiges Erlebnis und wir würden wieder Galapagos-pro wählen.

We still think about our trip to Ecuador on a regular basis and reminiscing about the exciting and eventful days.

It was a stroke of luck for us to be able to travel with you and in such a small group. You were always a thoughtful and caring tour guide and have complemented the local guides with your experience and enthusiasm for the country. Thank you very much.

The travel program was almost perfect. The first part with city tour, visit of the equator, and especially the excursions in the rainforest and the overnight stays in the jungle lodge were excellent. Too bad that the fog prevented our long hike, but the bath in the hot springs made up for it.

Please let our tour guide Adrian know at the next opportunity that we appreciated his guidance very much.

In the Galapagos, we had intense days with many highlights. We felt comfortable on the ship, especially because of the luxurious cabin you secure for us. Again, many thanks. For me, in addition to the rich fauna, which could be admired mostly from close range, also the snorkeling was an experience with lasting memory.

There is only one draw back in out otherwise 100% positive experience. At the end of the journey, we could have done without the additional day on the island. The third crossing of Santa Cruz was a bit tedious and the return journey to the mainland with the various means of transport also. However, we would not have missed the final tour of Guayaquil.

Overall, the trip was a great experience and we would choose Galapagos-pro again.

Für Tierfreunde sind die Galapagos Inseln gerade zu ein “Muss”, alle Nicht -Tierfreunde könnten hier welche werden. Mit welcher Selbstverständlichkeit in diesem Nationalpark Mensch und Tier zusammen leben, drängt einem die Frage auf, warum es nicht viel häufiger, nicht überall so sein kann. Die Inseln zeigen doch, dass es geht. Die Strände sind sauber, Seelöwen, Leguane, Pelikane werden akzeptiert, wo und wie sie sind, selbst wenn sie am Fischmarkt von Santa Cruz etwas unortodox “anstehen”, um Fischreste zu erhaschen. Galapagos lädt zu so vielem ein, vor allem zum Staunen, Begeistern, Entspannen – und immer wieder auch auf’s Neue zu Entdecken: die Natur zu entdecken, die Tiere und sich selbst. Ich habe selten in einem Urlaub so eine tolle, erholsame Mischung erlebt. Dazu das perfekte Klima im Mai. Was mich absolut überrascht hat, war die unglaublich persönliche, herzliche und hilfsbereite Betreuung durch die Galapagos Pro -Mitarbeiter / Vertretungen vor Ort. Ich fühlte mich nicht nur vom ersten Moment an wirklich gut aufgehoben und sympathisch betreut, ich möchte mich hiermit auch unbedingt noch einmal ganz herzlich bedanken. Alle waren toll – und Rebekka Franke wurde unser erklärter Gold-Engel, als wir mit Magen-Darm-Infekt kurzzeitig unpässlich waren.

Ich hoffe, dass diese wunderbaren Inseln geschützt bleiben und immer die Balance halten können zwischen touristischen Interessen und tierischen Bedürfnissen.

Wer Galapagos bereisen möchte, dem möchte ich empfehlen, sich genügend Zeit zu geben und nicht nur von einem Ausflug zum nächsten zu rennen. Diese Inseln sind jeden Moment und jede Mußestunde wert.

For animal lovers, the Galapagos Islands are an absolute must, and all non-animal lovers should come here too. The self-evident fact that people and animals live together in this national park begs the question why it can not be that much more common, not everywhere. The islands show that it works. The beaches are clean, sea lions, iguanas, pelicans are accepted wherever and however they are, even if they are “unorthodox” at the fish market of Santa Cruz to catch fish leftovers. A dream holiday!

We had a dream holiday in Galapagos!

Everything worked perfectly.

For us exactly the right amount of excursions and breaks were chosen, and all of the excursions were great.

The same applies to the accommodations and the on-site support. We are completely satisfied with both.

The diving cruise was a unique experience and we would choose the Nortada again, as there are only eight guests on board and you have a lot of space. The crew, the food, the dive guides and also our middlemen: everything was perfect.

Wir hatten einen Traum-Urlaub auf Galapagos!

Alles hat perfekt geklappt.

Für uns wurde genau das richtige Maß an Ausflügen und Freiraum gewählt und die Ausflüge waren alle toll.

Das Gleiche gilt für die Unterkünfte und die Betreuung vor Ort. Wir beide sind vollkommen zufrieden.

Die Tauchkreuzfahrt war ein einmaliges Erlebnis und wir würden jedes mal wieder die NORTADA auswählen, da sich nur acht Gäste auf ihr befinden und man sehr viel Platz hat. Die Crew, das Essen, die Tauchguides und auch unsere Mittaucher: alles war perfekt.

Die Reise war ein wirkliches Erlebnis, es hat alles sehr gut geklappt. Maquipucuna war sehr toll, sehr familiär und erholsam, Galapagos der Knaller (gemütliches Schiff mit sehr kompetenten Guides) und Macchu Pichu ein Wahnsinns Erlebnis (hier hatten wir eine wunderbare Reiseleitung – Vanessa Chavez-, die als Archäologin die Ausgrabungen begleitet hat.

Die Organisation vor Ort war, wie von Ihnen angekündigt, sehr gut. Einen Verbesserungsvorschlag hätte ich: Durch die Angabe der Mobilnummer ist die Kontaktaufnahme für die Reiseleitung bzw. Agentur einfacher (in Cusco hat es mehrere Versuche beiderseits benötigt, den Kontakt aufzunehmen).

Also alles in allem: Eine traumhafte Reise, herzlichen Dank für Ihre gute Vorbereitung und die Geduld während unserer Planung.

on Saturday we returned. All I can say is: Awesome!

The trip was a real experience, everything went very well. Maquipucuna was absolutely awesome, very informal and relaxing, Galapagos the Knaller (cozy ship with very competent guides) and Macchu Pichu an amazing experience (here we had a wonderful tour guide – Vanessa Chavez, the archaeologist who guided us through the archaeological excavations.)

The local organization was, as you have recommended, very good. A suggestion for improvement I would have: giving your mobile number to the travel guide or agency makes matters simpler (in Cusco it took several attempts on both sides to make the contact).

All in all: A fantastic journey, thank you for your good preparation and the patience during our planning.

Auch wenn der Alltag schon wieder unaufhaltsam nach dem Leben greift, sind wir noch ganz beseelt von den tollen, einzigartigen Eindrücken die wir auf den Inseln sammeln konnten. Wir möchten Ihnen und Ihrem Team unseren großen Dank für die Organisation und den wirklich hervorragend reibungslosen Ablauf unserer Reise aussprechen. Es hat alles immer genauso funktioniert wie im Reiseplan beschrieben (es sei denn wir haben nicht funktioniert wie wir sollten und sind auf Grund einer stehen gebliebenen Uhr etwas verspätet zu unserem Transfer nach Isabela gekommen…). Der Plan war optimal, um bei all den Aktivitäten den Überblick zu behalten und hatte für alle Unklarheiten und Fragen immer Antworten parat, da konnte gar nichts schief gehen. Das hat uns immer nochmal eine Portion Extra-Sicherheit gegeben. Und falls es doch organisatorische oder sonstige Fragen gab, waren Karin und auch ganz besonders Rebekka mit Antworten und Hilfsbereitschaft zur Stelle!

Gerade auf den Inseln fühlt sich die Zeit so kostbar an, dass man sich voll und ganz den vielfältigen Erlebnissen hingeben möchte…

Fazit: unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen und wir werden Sie weiterempfehlen.

My husband and I returned safely on Saturday from our Ecuador and Galapagos trip. Even if everyday life is slowly sinking in again, we are still very much inspired by the great, unique experiences we were able to gather on the islands. We would like to express our gratitude to you and your team for the organization and the really smooth running of our trip. Everything has always worked exactly as described in the itinerary (except when we did not work as we should and arrived late due to a stalled clock for our transfer to Isabela …). The plan was perfect to keep track of all the activities and had always answers for any ambiguity and questions, so nothing could go wrong. That has always given us a dose of extra security. And if there were any organizational or other questions, Karin and also especially Rebekka were always available with answers and a helping hand!

Especially on the islands, the time feels so precious, that you want to devote yourself fully to the diverse experiences …

nun sind wir schon 2 Wochen wieder von unserer tollen Reise zu Hause. Bevor wir aber völlig wieder in den Alltag abgleiten wollten wir uns auf diesem Wege sehr herzlich für die mehr als perfekte Organisation der Reise bedanken. Wir sind wirklich schon viel gereist, auch in diesem Stil, aber so umsorgt und behütet haben wir uns noch nie gefühlt.

Es fing schon an mit dem Taxifahrer in Quito, der uns verband mit ihrem Mann vor Ort und uns herzlich willkommen hieß. Und dann Alexander am nächsten Tag, der uns beim Mittagessen besuchte und uns Tipps gab. Und und und.. auf den Inseln stand immer jemand parat und hat uns in Empfang genommen, alles perfekt.

Vielleicht ein paar Tipps / Eindrücke aus den beiden Wochen, die wir gerne weitergeben möchten:

Casa del Eden in Quito       – super Lage, super freundlich, tolles Ambiente

Guango Lodge – wir wurden nicht nur von einem Fahrer abgeholt, sondern zudem von einem Guide. Beide wichen uns 24 h nicht mehr von der Seite und machten ein tolles Programm. Da war auf dem Weg der Besuch einer Rosenfarm, 2 Wanderungen etc…

5 Tage Tour – wir hatten nicht einen Driver Guide wie angekündigt, sondern einen Driver (sehr fürsorglich)  und den deutschsprachigen Guide Danilo – super Guide, sehr pragmatisch.

Cotopaxi Pungo – das Hotel ist der Hammer, jedes Zimmer blickt auf den Cotopaxi (mit Balkon) und auf der anderen Seite auf die Hochebene. Wir waren leider die einzigen Gäste an dem Tag, aber für mich war es das Highlight im Urlaub

Chimborazo Lodge  – tolle Lage, Abendessen übrigens im Preis inbegriffen (und sehr lecker), leider war Verweildauer hier zu kurz geplant. Wenn man hier wohnt, sollte man die Landschaft genießen (wir mussten leider schon morgens um 4.30 Uhr wieder los)

Zugfahrt – hat mich persönlich nicht vom Hocker gehauen

Los Balcones in Cuenca – gutes Hotel, sehr stilvoll, gute Lage und dabei deutlich günstiger als das Alcazar

Jean´s Home – na ja, ist halt ein Gästehaus. An das Zimmer habe ich mich schnell gewöhnt, aber nicht daran in einem Garten zu sitzen (der in dem Sinne keiner war) auf einem Plastikstuhl mit Blick auf Dornen, halb fertige Häuser und blaue Wassertonnen… das war schon etwas abtörnend. Gundi selbst war aber super nett und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Ihre Tochter hat uns einen Tag als Naturführerin begleitet, super gut ausgebildet!

Der Ausflug nach Floreana ist kein Brüller, den sollte man wirklich weglassen (Meinung mehrer Mitreisender an dem Tag)

Der Ausflug nach Seymour Norte war ein Traum!

Isabela war toll, auch die Wanderung auf den Vulkan und das Radfahren. Casa da Marita war super schön, aber man muss wirklich eine Juniorsuite mit Meerblick nehmen, um das Ambiente voll genießen zu können.

Wie gesagt, wir fanden alles super gut organisiert (z.B. auch das Taxi morgens im Hotel in Guayaquil zum Flughafen – der Ort selbst ist ja kein Burner-…) und werden Sie in jedem Fall unseren Freunden weiter empfehlen.

Now we are already two weeks back home since our great trip. But before we completely slide back into everyday life, we wanted to thank you very much for the more than perfect organization of the trip. We have traveled a lot before, also in this style, but we have never felt so personally cared for.

It started with the taxi driver in Quito, who joined us with her husband on site and gave us a warm welcome. And then Alexander who visited us the next day at lunch and gave us tips. I could go on and on .. on the islands there was always someone ready to welcome us, everything perfect.

Maybe a few tips / impressions from the two weeks that we would like to share:

Casa del Eden in Quito – great location, super friendly, great ambience

Guango Lodge – we were not only picked up by a driver, but also by a guide. Both did not leave our side for 24 hours and made a great program. On the way we visited a rose farm, and took 2 hikes.

5 day tour: we had not a driver guide as suggested, instead we had a driver (very kind) and the German speaking guide Danilo – fantastic guide, very pragmatic.

Cotopaxi Pungo – the place is awesome, each room faces the Cotopaxi (with balcony) and on the other side the plateau. Unfortunately we were the only guests on the day, but for me it was the highlight of our vacation

Chimborazo Lodge – great location, dinner by the way included in the price (and very delicious), but I wish we had planned more time here. If you stay here, be sure to enjoy the scenery. Unfortunately we had to leave at 4:30 in the morning..

Train ride – did not blow me away, personally.

Los Balcones in Cuenca – good hotel, very stylish, good location and a lot cheaper than the Alcazar

Jean’s Home – well, it’s just a guesthouse. I got used to the place quickly, but not because of being in a garden (in the sense there was none) on a plastic chair overlooking thorns, half-finished houses and blue water barrels … that was a bit off-putting. Gundi himself was super nice and we felt very comfortable. Your daughter accompanied us one day as nature guide, very well trained!

The trip to Floreana is not a screamer, you could leave it out (opinion of several fellow travelers on the day)

The trip to Seymour Norte was a dream!

Isabela was great, too, hiking on the volcano and cycling. Casa da Marita was super nice, but you really have to take a junior suite with ocean view to fully enjoy the ambience.

As I said, we found everything super well organized (for example, the taxi in the morning in the hotel in Guayaquil to the airport) and we will definitely recommend you to our friends.
