Our expertise is available at your fingertips as we include insider tips and everything we know about the islands on this website. Feel free to design a trip which caters to your needs using our extensive and excellent selections of hotels, cruises, tours, and excursions. As our team works directly together with cruise providers, hotels, and local vendors, we can guarantee you the most competitive prices available. The national parks make up an astounding 97% of the land area in the Galapagos Islands. Therefore to ensure ample environmental protection and conservation of the islands, a new travel law for the Galapagos Islands has been put in place. The national park authorities require every traveller to present their itinerary before their departure from Quito or Guayaquil. Travellers are now required to present a complete trip itinerary, including their flights and hotel bookings. Only travellers with pre-booked hotels, excursions, and transfers are allowed to fly to the Galapagos Islands.
There are three ways to travel across the Galapagos Islands – with a cruise, island hopping tour or a combination of both. To gain an authentic insight into the unique daily life of the locals and animals on the islands, we highly recommend the last option.
Explore the Galapagos by Cruise
Travelling on a cruise enables you to reach even the most remote islands of the Galapagos Archipelago. This way, you would not miss out on the wildlife that can only be found on specific islands. Besides shorter cruises, we also offer an extensive 15 days and 14 nights cruise package for all the knowledge seekers and explorers out there. Please refer to our travel suggestions below.
The Galapagos Classic is a short 5-day, 4-night cruise which offers four different routes as shown below:
- The Great Cormorant Route (West) – to Fernandina and Isabela Island
- The Red-footed Booby Route (North) – to Genovesa Island
- The Albatross Route (South) – to Española as well as Floreana Island
- The Land Iguana Route (Central) – around the island of Santa Cruz
We named the routes after the animals which can only be found on these specific islands. For example, the Great Cormorant can only be seen on the Cormorant Route to Fernandina Island and the Galapagos Albatross, only on the Albatross Route to Española Island. You can find all the details you need regarding the routes below.
Galapagos Island Hopping Tours
A cheaper alternative to explore the Galapagos Islands is an Island Hopping tour. You will have the luxury to travel at your own pace and to participate in more land-based activities. However, you would only be able to cover the middle sections of the Archipelagos as the remote islands are out of reach due to time constraint. Nevertheless, with an Island Hopping, you would still have the possibility to experience 80% of the wildlife on the Galapagos through excursions and tours. The central province of the Galapagos Islands is Puerto Baquerizo, which is located on Island San Cristóbal. There are more than 500 sea lions on this island, and you can find them sunbathing on park benches, waterfronts and lazing around at the beachside hotels.
We have put together some of the most inclusive Island Hopping options for you to explore below:
Mission Paradise – This is our best selling island hopping tour where you will spend seven days on Isabela Island.
Luxurious Galapagos Island Hopping Tour – We offer stays at the highest rated luxurious hotels in the Galapagos Islands (Finch Bay, Scalesia Lodge, and Pikaia Lodge) which are located on Isabela Island and Santa Cruz.
(Alternative Island Hopping routes can be provided, let us know how we can help you.)
