Regulations for the Inca Trail
The Inca Trail is one of the most famous hiking trails in the world. To protect the landscape and to preserve the Inca Trail, access has been limited to 500 people per day since 2004. You have to register for the 2 or 4 day tour in advance and the registration is not transferable. A copy of your passport is also required in advance while you make your booking for the Inca Trail. The Inca Trail has a scheduled maintenance in February and therefore, it is not possible to hike there during this period.
