our whole family would like to thank you for this wonderful journey. The combination of excursions in the preparation stages was already tailored perfectly – the recommendation for Isabela was dead right. The perfect service started already in Quito, when we arrived tired from the long flight and missing a suitcase. We were brought to the hotel safe and well and the case was quickly dealt with by your staff before our onward flight to Galapagos.

The city tour with Adrian the next day was great, thank you again to him!

The welcome and care by Rebecca on Isabela could not have been more heartfelt!

The trips with snorkeling were a lot of fun, the wildlife is so unique!

After Tuneles and the crossing to Santa Cruz we were a bit seasick, so the family unfortunately skipped the excursion to North Seymour. However, we have been able to do so much on our own that we did not get bored – the Darwin Research Center and Tortuga Beach will always be especially fondly remembered.

Highlight on the last day of the excursion to the giant tortoises under the guidance of Michaela, to her a big thank you.

The trip then ended with a stay over Christmas / New Year’s Eve at the family in Arequipa / Peru.

Following a three-week glacier tour in the Cordillera Blanca (Peru), this was a contrast program as it could not be more different.

From ice and glaciers up to 6000 m altitude with breathtaking views, absolute silence and very cold, to the sea, beach, heat and tourism on Santa Cruz and Isabela.

Galapagos:

Impressive images of the origins (almost) of nature, the variety of endemic plants and animals (Darwin sends greetings) as well as an interesting insight into the geological form of the volcanic islands.

Many lasting impressions (selection):

– Cows graze together with turtles, side by side (you could search the Allgäu in vain)

– Turtle breeding stations

– Underwater encounters with sea turtles, reef sharks and seahorses while snorkeling (Las Tintoreras)

– brooding blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, Darwin’s finches (13 species), and

– Iguanas that stumble everywhere

In the evenings along the main street of Santa Cruz, it can become very “busy” so relax here – especially since there are very good small restaurants with excellent cuisine and ice cold beer.

The 9 day trip (July 2018) was excellently organized by Galapagos PRO GmbH – in particular Mrs. Rodinger.

Everything worked perfectly – even the individual requests were done professionally.

On-site support – both on Santa Cruz and on Isabela, left nothing to be desired. A big praise and thanks to both ladies.

Im Anschluss an eine dreiwöchige Gletschertour in den Cordillera Blanca (Peru), ein Kontrastprogramm wie es unterschiedlicher nicht sein konnte.

Von Eis und Gletscher in bis zu 6000 m Höhe mit atemberaubenden Ausblicken, absoluter Stille und sehr kalt, zu Meer, Strand, Wärme und Tourismustrubel auf Santa Cruz und Isabela.

Galapagos:

Beeindruckende Bilder ursprünglicher (fast) Natur, die Vielfalt endemischer Pflanzen und Tiere (Darwin lässt grüßen) sowie ein interessanter Einblick in die geologische Formengestalt der Vulkaninseln.

Viele nachhaltige Eindrücke (Auswahl):

– Kühe weiden gemeinsam mit Schildkröten, Seite an Seite (sucht man im Allgäu vergeblich)

– Schildkrötenaufzuchtstationen

– Unterwasserbegegnungen mit Meeresschildkröten, Riff-Haien und Seepferdchen beim Schnorcheln (“Las Tintoreras”)

– brütende Blaufußtölpel, Fregattvögel, Darwinfinken (13 Spezies) und

– Leguane, über die man allerorten stolpert

Dass es am Abend, entlang der Hauptstraße von Santa Cruz, sehr “belebt” zugeht – muss man gelassen hinnehmen – zumal es sehr gute kleine Restaurants mit hervorragender Küche und eiskaltem Bier gibt.

Die 9-tägige Reise (Juli 2018) wurde in hervorragender Weise von GALAPAGOS PRO GmbH – insbesondere Frau Rodinger – organisiert.

Alles hat bestens funktioniert – auch die individuellen Wünsche wurden professionell erledigt.

Die Betreuung vor Ort -sowohl auf Santa Cruz als auch auf Isabela, ließen keine Wünsche übrig. Ein großes Lob und Danke an beide Damen.

Actually, we had already planned and booked our trip completely: 16 days in mainland Ecuador and 9 days in Galapagos – spread over the 3 habitable islands. As far as Galapagos was concerned, the decision of cruise or no cruise was rather difficult. Ultimately, despite the quite reasonable prices for a cruise, the skepticism about how we would feel in a tour group made us decide against a cruise. Shortly before departure we had two or three smaller detailed questions and contacted Galapagos PRO, because we had the feeling they would answer our questions even without us booking there. This was indeed the case. Ms. Zwermann, however, understandably asked if she could assist us to look for a cruise, because this way of discovering Galapagos has its own charm and advantages, and offers special insights. We agreed to that, and what can we say: The offer was very good – in all respects.

Above all, Ms Zwermann knew how to integrate the cruise as practically as possible into our already existing itinerary. In addition, she made the necessary ferry connections for us to remain (after the cruise) on the islands of Isabela and Santa Cruz. You quickly realize that she knows the conditions very well and thinks fast. So we changed our itinerary to a 5 day (4 nights) cruise and 4 days stay on Isabela and Santa Cruz. Not cheap in itself, but Galapagos is a more expensive destination, and for what we got on the cruise, it was all worth the money.

We were on the “Natural Paradise” – a higher class ship and it was completely perfect. A great tour program with shore excursions and snorkeling excursions, an incredibly attentive crew, perfect processes, brilliantly organized, very high quality food (every day different, always excellent), excellent snorkeling equipment, very good, large rooms – even those in the simpler category. When we arrived at Santa Cruz after the cruise, a nice advisor (Karin) from Galapagos PRO welcomed us and accompanied us on to the ferry crossing to Isabela.

All queries directed to Mrs. Rodinger were clarified absolutely competently and promptly. Let’s not forget the thoughtfulness in the greetings and “graduation” letter (Galapagos animal guide / cool socks ;-) ). These small gestures just make a good impression and we value something like that. Thank you!

Unexpectedly, we won the auction with Bietfieber.de, and so for the first time we had the opportunity to get to know South America. We thought, since we’re going there, we want to see as much as we can. With the help of Nadine Rodinger’s expert advice, we put together a journey that we will not forget in a hurry.

We flew from Dusseldorf via Amsterdam and landed after approx. 11 hrs in Quito. Here, we were greeted by Alexander. On the transfer to our hotel Casa Gardenia in the old town, we already received the first information about Ecuador and Quito. After a warm welcome at the hotel, we went for an evening stroll through the old town. The next day we used the city tour with the hop-on / hop-off bus, which we ended prematurely to start a bus tour to “La Mitad del Mundo”. That was a very good decision, because if we had not seen this we would have missed something important from our Quito experience. The next morning we were picked up early at the hotel and although it was before the official breakfast time, we had the opportunity to get breakfast. Thank you to our hosts at Casa Gardenia.

At the airport, we arrived quickly to our boarding gate. Due to the heavy traffic in Quito, the transfer had taken longer than expected. We flew with Tame. The plane left on time, but unfortunately after 45 min, we landed back in Quito. This is actually the expected flight time to Lago Agrio, so nobody knew exactly what was going on. After 30 min we went in the same plane (we felt a bit uneasy), and flew about 40 min to land in Lago Agrio. There it had rained a short time before, so the humidity was really high.

Again, our driver was already there ready for our transfer. Because of our delay, he wanted to catch up time, so we made a speedy drive to Cuyabeno River. Then we met Kurt, the owner of Tapir Lodge. He picked us up with the motorized canoe and gave us the first impressions on the way to the lodge. We had barely arrived and dropped our bags, before going out to capture the evening mood. We got a first impression of what we should expect the next 3 days and that’s exactly how it continued: Day and evening through the jungle, by boat or on foot, a visit to the shaman and only the two of us with Kurt. Thanks Kurt for the many impressions and experiences that we were allowed. On the morning of the fourth day, unfortunately, it was already back to Quito. On the transfer, there were still many Amazon experiences to enjoy.

After another night at the Casa Gardenia, with great advice for the evening, organizing a private taxi and a lunchbox for the early morning start, we set off to the airport again. Again, Alexander was back at the hotel punctually for the transfer and looked after all the important things at the airport. This time we went with Latam via Guayaquil to Galapagos. Everything went smoothly and we landed in Baltra on time. No sooner had we got the suitcases than our guide greeted us to bring us to the islands on the Isabela II. After crossing the canal (considering how the suitcases are lying on the boats there, one wonders that nothing more happens) we arrived at the island of Santa Cruz. During our lunch break, we had the first contact with the giant tortoises, before going to the port of Puerto Ayora to embark.

The next few days on the ship were full of experiences. Morning and afternoon with different programs: exploring the islands, riding in the canoe or glass bottom boat, snorkeling and in the evening, they always explained what to expect the next day. A big thank you to the crew of the Isabela II and our tour guides, especially Alexander. We still have to process all of the experiences we had, but even here the time passed so fast and on the 5th morning it was hard to say goodbye.

We disembarked in Baltra and had the same journey over the canal and Santa Cruz Island by taxi. Again, everything was well organized. Thanks to the local team on Santa Cruz, we were able to leave our luggage at the Agency’s office until the speedboat departed for Isabela, giving us the opportunity to take a closer look at the Charles Darwin Research Station. This was our first time on an inhabited island in Galapagos. The ride with the speedboat took 2 hours and is certainly not for everyone. We had a good seat and enjoyed the tour. Arriving at Isabela, we were greeted by Rebekka who accompanied us to our hotel Cormorant Beach. This is a family run hotel. The big plus points are the warmth of the family and the location of the hotel on the beach. A small downside is that breakfast is in a hostel around the corner. The road is short, but not everyone was able to be sufficiently full at breakfast. We wanted to relax for the 3 days on the island, but instead we hiked to the “Wall of the Tears” on the first day. Luckily we did not take a bike – that’s how we saw the many animals along the way. With the bike we would have certainly driven past. On the second day we went on a volcano tour – this meant hiking 16 km. Again, thanks to Rebekka, because the agency gave us a brilliant guide with a lot of background knowledge. Then came our last day on the island and here we experienced our first pure beach day.

We also enjoyed this because we knew, the next day starts the mammoth return journey with an arrival in Dusseldorf after 26 hours. Next time we would do it differently and only take the return journey to the mainland and then stop there 1-2 days to explore the area before the long flight back. The return journey with speedboat, taxi over Santa Cruz, canal crossing, flight from Baltra to Guayaquil and further via Amsterdam to Dusseldorf worked without problems.

All in all we experienced a wonderful holiday. The organization of the trip, the prepared documents, the contacts here in Frankfurt and on site, the ship and the hotels – there is nothing we did not like.

Unverhofft hatten wir den Zuschlag bei Bietfieber.de bekommen und somit zum ersten Mal die Möglichkeit, Südamerika kennen zu lernen. Wir haben uns gedacht, wenn wir schon einmal da sind, dann wollen wir auch mehr sehen. Mit Hilfe der kompetenten Beratung von Nadine Rodinger wurde eine Reise zusammengestellt, die wir so schnell nicht vergessen werden.

Gestartet in Düsseldorf über Amsterdam landeten wir nach rd. 11 Std. Flug in Quito und wurden dort schon von Alexander empfangen. Auf dem Transfer zu unserem Hotel Casa Gardenia in der Altstadt bekamen wir schon die ersten Informationen über Ecuador und Quito. Nach einem herzlichen Empfang im Hotel ging es zu einem Abendspaziergang durch die Altstadt. Am nächsten Tag nutzten wir die Stadtrundfahrt mit dem Hop-On/Hop Off Bus, die wir aber vorzeitig beendeten, um eine Bustour zum “La Mitad del Mundo” zu starten. Dies war eine sehr gute Entscheidung, denn wenn wir dies nicht gesehen hätten, würde uns etwas von Quito fehlen. Am nächsten Morgen wurden wir frühzeitig am Hotel abgeholt und obwohl es vor dem offiziellen Frühstück lag, hatten wir die Möglichkeit ein Frühstück zu bekommen. Vielen Dank dafür an unsere Gastgeber im Casa Gardenia. Wieder am Flughafen angekommen ging es zügig ans Boarden. Aufgrund des vielen Verkehrs in Quito hatte der Transfer doch länger gedauert als gedacht. Wir flogen mit Tame. Es ging pünktlich los, doch leider landeten wir nach 45 min. wieder in Quito. Eigentlich war dies die Flugzeit bis nach Lago Agrio. Keiner wusste so genau, was los war und nach 30 min. ging es in das gleiche Flugzeug (uns war schon ein wenig mulmig), um dann nach ca. 40 min. in Lago Agrio zu landen. Dort hatte es kurz vorher heftig geregnet, so dass die Luftfeuchtigkeit enorm war. Auch hier stand wieder unser Fahrer für den Transfer bereit, der aufgrund unserer Verspätung aber Zeit aufholen wollte, so dass es sehr zügig Richtung Brücke Cuyabeno Fluss ging. Da haben wir dann Kurt kennengelernt, den Eigentümer der Tapir Lodge. Er hat uns mit dem motorisierten Kanu abgeholt und uns auf der Fahrt zur Lodge die ersten Eindrücke vermittelt. Dabei sollte es jedoch nicht bleiben, denn kaum angekommen, Sachen verstaut, ging es schon los, um die Abendstimmung einzufangen. Wir bekamen einen ersten Eindruck von dem, was uns die nächsten 3 Tage erwarten sollte. Und genau so ging es auch weiter. Tagsüber und abends durch den Dschungel, mit Boot oder zu Fuß, Besuch bei dem Schamanen und immer nur wir zwei mit Kurt- danke Kurt für die vielen Eindrücke und Erlebnisse, die wir haben durften. Am Morgen des vierten Tages ging es leider schon wieder zurück nach Quito, doch auch auf dem Transfer gab es noch viele Eindrücke vom Amazonas mitzunehmen. Nach einer weiteren Nacht im Casa Gardenia, mit einer tollen Beratung für den Abend, Organisation eines privaten Taxis und eines Lunches für den frühen Start am Morgen ging es wieder los zum Flughafen. Auch hier war Alexander für den Transfer wieder pünktlich am Hotel und betreute uns bei allen wichtigen Dingen am Flughafen. Diesmal ging es mit Latam über Guayaquil nach Galapagos. Es klappte alles mit dem Flug und wir landeten pünktlich auf Baltra. Kaum hatten wir die Koffer, begrüsste uns auch schon unser Guide, der uns die nächsten Tage auf der Isabela II die Inseln näher bringen wollte. Nach der Überquerung des Kanals (wenn man bedenkt, wie dort die Koffer auf den Booten liegen, wundert man sich, dass nicht mehr passiert) ging es über die Insel Santa Cruz. In Verbindung mit einer Mittagspause gab es die ersten Kontakte mit den Riesenschildkröten, bevor es zum Hafen von Puerto Ayora und zur Einschiffung ging. Die nächsten Tage auf dem Schiff waren voll mit Erlebnissen. Morgens und nachmittags mit unterschiedlichem Programm: Inseln erkunden, Kanu oder Glasbodenboot fahren, schnorcheln und abends immer Erläuterung des nächsten Tages. Ein großer Dank an die Crew der Isabela II und unsere Tourguides, allen voran Alexander. Die Erlebnisse hier müssen wir erst einmal alle verarbeiten. Doch auch hier ging die Zeit viel zu schnell vorbei und am 5. Morgen hieß es leider Abschied nehmen. Wir wurden in Baltra ausgeschifft und hatten den gleichen Weg über den Kanal und die Insel Santa Cruz mit einem Taxi vor uns. Aber es war wieder alles hervorragend organisiert. Dank an das Team vor Ort auf Santa Cruz. Wir konnten bis zur Abfahrt des Speedbootes nach Isabela unser Gepäck im Büro der Agentur lassen und hatten so die Möglichkeit, uns den Ort und die Charles Darwin Forschungsstation näher anzuschauen. Dies war der erste Kontakt zu einer bewohnten Insel auf Galapagos. Die Fahrt mit dem Speedboot dauerte dann 2 Std. und ist bestimmt nicht jedermanns Sache. Wir hatten einen guten Sitzplatz und genossen die Tour. Auf Isabela angekommen wurden wir auch schon von Rebekka in Empfang genommen, die uns zu unserem Hotel Cormorant Beach begleitete. Dies ist ein familiengeführtes Hotel. Die großen Pluspunkte sind die Herzlichkeit der Familie und die Lage des Hotels am Strand. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass es das Frühstück in einem Hostel um die Ecke gibt. Der Weg ist kurz, aber es dürfte nicht jeder ausreichend satt werden bei dem Frühstück. Wir wollten die 3 Tage auf der Insel nur ausruhen, doch stattdessen wanderten wir am ersten Tag zu der “Wall of the Tears”. Zum Glück haben wir kein Fahrrad genommen, denn so haben wir die vielen Tiere am Wegesrand überhaupt erst gesehen. Mit dem Rad wären wir bestimmt vorbei gefahren. Am zweiten Tag ging es dann auf eine Vulkantour – dies hieß 16 km wandern. Auch hier lieben Dank an Rebekka, denn die Agentur, die sie für uns ausgesucht hat, bescherte uns einen genialen Guide mit viel Hintergrundwissen. Dann kam unser letzter Tag auf der Insel und hier erlebten wir unseren ersten reinen Strandtag. Wir haben auch diesen genossen, denn wir wussten, am nächsten Tag startet die Mammutrückreise mit einer Ankunft in Düsseldorf nach 26 Std. Hier würden wir es beim nächsten Mal anders machen und nur die Rückreise zum Festland antreten und dort dann noch 1-2 Tage die Gegend erkunden, bevor der lange Rückflug startet. Doch die Rückreise mit Speedboot, Taxi über Santa Cruz, Kanalüberquerung, Flug von Baltra nach Guayaquil und weiter über Amsterdam nach Düsseldorf hat ohne Probleme geklappt.

Insgesamt haben wir einen traumhaften Urlaub erlebt. Die Organisation der Reise, die vorbereiteten Unterlagen, die Ansprechpartner hier in Frankfurt und vor Ort, das Schiff und die Hotels – es gibt nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat.

Erfahrungen dieser Reise mitteilen! Wo sollen wir nur anfangen? Dieser Trip übertraf in ungeahntem Ausmaß alles, was wir uns je hätten erträumen lassen. Wie in einem Rausch leben wir noch heute, einen Monat nach unserer Heimkehr. Erinnerungen fürs Leben!

Sowohl der Buchungsvorgang als auch die Zeit der Reisevorbereitung gestalteten sich mit der Unterstützung von Frau N. Rodinger sehr angenehm. Sie ging stets auf unsere Wünsche ein und stand uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Der zuverlässige und herzliche Service war auf einem außergewöhnlich hohem Niveau. Wir starteten also mit einem guten Gefühl in das Abenteuer Galapagos.

Dieses bekräftigte sich am Tag der Anreise. Nach der Landung in Quito – mit den Flügen klappte alles reibungslos – wurden wir sehr freundlich mit einem Begrüßungsschild empfangen und zu unserer Unterkunft gefahren. Die sympathische Mitarbeiterin vor Ort kümmerte sich hervorragend um uns. Wir fühlten uns absolut willkommen. Nach zwei Nächten in Quito – wir schliefen im Wantara Garden Suites (schöne Unterkunft) – ging es dann zum Flughafen zurück. Unser Traum wurde wahr: Wir betraten den Flieger auf die Galapagos-Inseln.

Das Abenteuer hätte nicht spektakulärer beginnen können. Wir verbrachten einen atemberaubenden Tag in der Natur mit Karin. Wir besichtigten Landschaften, die schöner nicht sein könnten und statteten dem Schildkrötenland einen Besuch ab. Im Traum hätten wir nie gedacht, dass dort tatsächlich Riesenschildkröten auf den Straßen, den Feldern und Wegen entlang spazieren. Sie waren überall. Wir waren total beeindruckt und sehr sehr glücklich.

Wir werden nicht weiterhin so detailliert berichten, wollten nur anhand des Ankunftstages aufzeigen, wie überwältigt wir von der Flora und Fauna und der tollen Organisation von Galapagos PRO waren. Karin war ein super Guide und hat uns das ultimative Galapagosfeeling beschert.

In Puerto Ayora checkten wir im Cucuve Suites ein. Dieses Hotel besticht durch seine ausgezeichnete Lage, ein leckeres Frühstück und besonders durch die freundlichen Mitarbeiter. Der Ort Puerto Ayora ist lebendig und für den Galapagoseinstieg bestens geeignet. Für uns war es jedenfalls wundervoll.

Die Zeit auf Santa Cruz genossen wir sehr. Die von Galapagos PRO gebuchten Ausflüge liefen reibungslos ab und warteten mit spektakulären Überraschungen auf. Auch die “Auf eigene Faust”-Touren machten großen Spaß. Dank der detaillierten Beschreibungen im Reiseplan entging uns nichts und wir konnten die Orte ausgiebig genießen.

Auch die Überfahrt nach Isabela war bestens organisiert. Wir wurden von Karin wirklich bis zum Boot begleitet und direkt am Pier in Isabela von Rebekka empfangen. Im Casa de Marita bezogen wir ein schönes Zimmer mit Meerblick und direktem Strandzugang. Schon nach dem ersten Erkundungsspaziergang waren wir uns sicher: Wir sind im Paradies. Für Tierfreunde und Naturliebhaber gibt es wohl keinen spektakuläreren Ort auf der Welt.

Alle unternommenen Ausflüge waren wieder bestens organisiert. Rebekka stand uns stets für Fragen zur Verfügung und wir fühlten uns erneut sehr gut betreut. Wie in Trance erlebten wir zwei wundervolle Wochen zwischen zahmen Tieren und herzlichen Menschen auf Isabela. Die Unternehmungsvorschläge von Galapagos Pro waren super strukturiert, sodass man tatsächlich alle Aktivitäten wie empfohlen “abarbeiten” konnte.

Die Abreise war natürlich auch hervorragend organisiert und wir saßen nach knapp 30 Stunden Reisezeit auf dem heimischen Sofa.

Das Unglaubliche an den Galapagos-Inseln ist, dass alle angekündigten “Attraktionen” tatsächlich eintreten. Werden auf dieser Insel oder in jener Bucht die spezifischen Tierarten versprochen, gibt es diese auch wirklich zu sehen. Wird mit einem Pfeilschild auf Iguanas hingewiesen, kann man sich darauf verlassen, dass nach wenigen Metern Iguanakolonien chillen. Als würden sie nur auf den Menschenbesuch warten… Sehr beeindruckend. Neben den Tieren und den schönen Landschaften sind auch die Menschen ein Highlight auf den Galapagos-Inseln. Diese sind so freundlich und zuvorkommend, dass man sich sehr willkommen fühlt.

Sharing experiences of this trip? Where should we start! This trip surpassed everything we could ever dream to an unimaginable extent. A month after our return home, we are still living in a frenzy. Memories for life!

Both the booking process and the time of the travel preparation were very pleasant with the support of Mrs. N. Rodinger. She always responded to our requests and assisted us with words and deeds. The reliable and warm service was at an exceptionally high level. So we started our Galapagos adventure with a good feeling.

This was confirmed on the day of arrival. After landing in Quito – everything went smoothly with the flights – we were welcomed very friendly with a welcome sign and drove to our accommodation. The kind staff on site took excellent care of us. We felt absolutely welcome. After two nights in Quito – we slept at the Wantara Garden Suites (nice place to stay) – then we went back to the airport. Our dream came true: We entered the plane on the Galapagos Islands.

The adventure could not have started more spectacularly. We spent a breathtaking day in nature with Karin. We visited landscapes that could not be more beautiful and visited the land of the turtles. In the dream we never would have thought that there really giant tortoises walking on the streets, in the fields and along the paths. They were everywhere. We were really impressed and very happy.

We will not continue to report in such detail, just to show on the day of arrival how overwhelmed we were with the flora and fauna and the great organization of Galapagos PRO. Karin was a great guide and gave us the ultimate Galapagos feeling.

In Puerto Ayora we checked in at the Cucuve Suites. This hotel impresses with its excellent location, delicious breakfast and especially friendly staff. The town of Puerto Ayora is alive and well suited for a first taste of Galapagos. It was wonderful for us.

We really enjoyed the time on Santa Cruz. The trips booked by Galapagos PRO went smoothly and came up with spectacular surprises. The “independent excursion” tours were great fun. Thanks to the detailed descriptions in the itinerary, nothing escaped us and we were able to enjoy the places extensively.

The crossing to Isabela was well organized. We were actually accompanied by Karin to the boat and received directly at the pier in Isabela by Rebekka. In Casa de Marita we moved into a beautiful room with sea views and direct beach access. Already after the first exploration walk we were sure: We are in paradise. For animal lovers and nature lovers there is probably no more spectacular place in the world.

All of our excursions were, again, well organized. Rebekka was always available for questions and we felt, again, very well looked after. As if in a trance, we had two wonderful weeks with the tame animals and warm people on Isabela. The tour proposals of Galapagos PRO were super structured, so that you could indeed “achieve” all activities as recommended.

The departure was, of course, also very well organized and we sat after almost 30 hours travel time, back on our sofa.

The unbelievable thing about the Galapagos Islands is that all the announced “attractions” actually happen. If that species of animal are promised on this island or in that bay, they can really be seen. If an arrow sign indicates iguanas, one can count on finding Iguana colonies relaxing nearby, as if they were just waiting for the human visitors… Very impressive. In addition to the animals and the beautiful landscapes, people are also a highlight in the Galapagos Islands. They are so friendly and accommodating that you feel very welcome.

Dank Galapagos-PRO hatten wir eine ganz tolle Reise durch Peru, Ecuador und Galapagos.

Unsere ursprünglichen Bedenken ohne Spanischkenntnisse und mit 65 Jahren durch diese Länder zu touren waren schnell zerstreut. Dank sehr netter und deutschsprachiger Reisebegleiter haben wir viel gesehen, gute Tipps erhalten und viel gelernt. Die Unterkünfte waren durchweg in Ordnung, sauber und teilweise originell (in Lima das Haus des Künstlers Delfin, auf San Cristóbal die sehr netten Gastgeber Jessica und Leon …).

Auch die Transfers von und zu den Flughäfen verliefen reibungslos.

Vielen Dank an das gesamte Galapagos-PRO-Team, wir werden euch weiter empfehlen!

Thanks to Galapagos PRO we had a great trip through Peru, Ecuador and Galapagos.

Our original concerns about lacking knowledge of Spanish and about being 65 years old and touring through these countries were quickly dispelled. Thanks to very nice and German-speaking travel companion we have seen a lot, we received good tips and learned a lot. The accommodations were all good, clean and partly original (in Lima the house of the artist Delfin, on San Cristóbal the very nice hosts Jessica and Leon…).

Transfers to and from the airports also went smoothly.

4 Tage in Quito und Umgebung, dann 4 Nächte eine tolle Loge im Regenwald mit Wanderungen, Kanufahrten, danach Galapagos Inseln mit Tauchen, Schnorcheln, super Begegnungen mit Seelöwen, Schildkröten und vielen Vogelarten. Es war eine tolle Reise die hervorragend von Galapagos PRO für uns individuell organisiert wurde. Die Unterkünfte waren alle klein aber sehr fein. Galapagos PRO hat uns super betreut und alle Exkursionen haben klasse geklappt. Frau Zwermann hat gesagt wir hätten das Rund um sorglos Paket gebucht. Das hat voll und ganz zugetroffen. 4 days in Quito and surrounding area, then 4 nights a great lodge in the rainforest with hikes, canoeing, then Galapagos Islands with diving, snorkeling, great encounters with sea lions, turtles and many different bird species. It was a great trip that was perfectly organized by Galapagos PRO for us individually. The accommodations were all small but very nice. Es ist nahezu unglaublich, dass bei so einer komplexen Fernreise in die Amazonasregion, den Cotopaxi-Nationalpark und auf 3 Galapagos-Inseln die gesamte Reise völlig reibungslos verlief! Es gab keinerlei organisatorische Pannen. Alle Reisebegleiter und Guides waren pünktlich zur Stelle und haben uns prompt mit allen nötigen Informationen Tipps, Bordkarten etc versorgt.

Solche Reisen in Naturparadiese stehen und fallen mit der Qualität der Guides. Die Guides von Galapagos PRO waren alle sehr kompetent, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alle Unterkünfte waren sehr persönlich geführt mit der jeweiligen individuellen Handschrift der Inhaber. Die Qualität war durchweg gut bis sehr gut.

Fazit: Mit dieser Reise habe ich mir einen Lebenstraum erfüllt. Sie war in jeder Hinsicht “ihr Geld wert”!

It is almost unbelievable that with such a complex long-distance trip to the Amazon region, the Cotopaxi National Park and three Galapagos Islands, the entire journey went very smoothly! After we overcame our jetlag in the brilliant hotel Casa Ecuatreasures, we spent a great day in Quito.

The next day we left early in the morning for the Galapagos (Santa Cruz). For this we were picked up by German speaking staff (we are German speaking) and brought to the airport. After we arrived at the Baltra airport, the tour continued smoothly. We were picked up by a guide and brought to the hotel but before that, we visited the tortoise conservation centre “El Chato” and the Charles Darwin Station.

In the new and beautiful Hotel Ikala we spent the days in Puorto Ayora. Actually we would have booked another hotel, but we were informed shortly before departure about construction in the other hotel and we were offered an alternative hotel. As this did not quite correspond to our wishes, we decided for the Hotel Ikala at a surcharge.

We spent the 3 days before our dive safari with great excursions which were recommended to us by Galapagos PRO.

And then the day arrived and we checked in on the Nortada: a great dive boat which we would book again.

1 week we were here by the warm, competent and courteous crew supplied and saw everything under water that the diver’s heart desires (whale sharks, hammerhead schools, Manta Rays, Mola Mola, Iguanas, seals, Galapagos penguins … and and and) The loaned dive equipment was in good condition. Unfortunately we had to negotiate first not to pay the price for the complete diving equipment, since we brought a lot ourselves. But finally we could find an agreement.

The day of departure sadly arrived and we were again accompanied by a German speaking staff member to the taxi. Even the return flight worked without any problems and so we arrived back home healthy with a backpack full of wonderful memories.

In hindsight, we would make the trip again, but next time a little longer so that we can have traveled to other islands. Sure, it’s not a cheap holiday, but it’s worth every penny. We were really well looked after by the company Galapagos PRO and can recommend this to anyone.

Nachdem wir den Jetlag in dem super tollen Hotel Casa Ecuatreasures etwas überwunden hatten, verbrachten wir noch einen tollen Tag in Quito.

Am nächsten Tag ging es früh morgens Richtung Galapagos (Santa Cruz). Hierfür wurden wir von einem deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiter abgeholt und zum Flughafen gebracht. Angekommen am Flughafen von Baltra ging es reibungslos weiter. Wir wurden von einem Guide abgeholt und zum Hotel gebracht zuvor aber besuchten wir die Schildkrötenfarm „El Chato“und die Charles Darwin Station.

Im neuen und schönen Hotel Ikala verbrachten wir die Tage in Puorto Ayora. Eigentlich hätten wir ein anderes Hotel gebucht, jedoch wurden wir kurz vor der Abreise über Bauarbeiten im Hotel informiert und uns wurde ein alternatives Hotel angeboten. Da dies jedoch nicht ganz unseren Wünschen entsprach entschieden wir uns fürs Hotel Ikala gegen einen Aufpreis.

Die 3 Tage bis zur Tauchsafari verbrachten wir mit tollen Ausflügen welche uns von Galapagos Pro empfohlen wurden.

Und dann war der Tag da, wir checkten auf der Nortada ein. Ein tolles Tauchboot welches wir gleich wieder buchen würden.

1 Woche wurden wir hier von der herzlichen, kompetenten und zuvorkommenden Crew versorgt und sahen unter Wasser alles was das Taucher Herz begehrt (Walhaie, Hammerhai Schulen, Mantarochen, Mola Mola, Iguanas, Seerobben, Galapagos Pinguine… und und und) Die Leihaurüstung war in gutem Zustand, leider mussten wir erst etwas diskutieren um nicht den Preis für die komplette Tauchausrüstung zu bezahlen, da wir doch einiges selber mitbrachten. Schluss endlich aber konnten wir uns doch einigen.

Irgendwann kam dann leider der Tag der Abreise und wir wurden wieder von einer deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiterin zum Taxi begleitet. Auch der Rückflug klappte problemlos und so kamen wir mit einem Rucksack voller wunderschönen Erinnerungen wieder gesund Zuhause an.

Retrospektiv würden wir die Reise gleich wieder machen, wenn es ginge aber etwas länger, so dass wir noch andere Inseln hätten bereisen können. Klar ist, es ist kein günstiger Urlaub, aber er ist jeden Cent wert. Wir waren echt gut betreut durch die Firma Galapagos pro und können diese jedem weiterempfehlen.

Wir sind begeistert und das in jeder Beziehung. Wir haben fantastische Tage im Tierparadies verbracht. Die Reise war perfekt vorbereitet und alles klappte dank der engagierten Mitarbeiter wie am Schnürchen. Von diesen Erlebnissen werden wir lange zehren und uns gern daran erinnern. Wir wünschen immer solch zufriedene Kunden, wie wir es sind.
